TEXTE ALLEMAND
"The Swiss Wiz" was the nickname given to Edi Wyss at McLaren when he was Denny Hulme's racing mechanic there around 1969. The play on words sounds like "The Swiss magician" and characterises what was most appreciated about him, his absolute mastery of technical craftsmanship.
In this book, he tells how his passion for racing and sports cars led him into the Swiss racing scene at a young age, first with Abarth, and later to international teams led by Joakim Bonnier, Bruce McLaren, Jo Siffert, Tecno, Herbert Müller and Peter Sauber. He worked in Grand Prix, the Indy 500, the 24-Hours of Le Mans and the Can-Am series. More recently in the "Moschthüsli", he has built up a specialised workshop where collectors of historic sports and racing cars can also get Ferraris restored and serviced.
The book offers many previously unpublished pictures and tells the personal story of an insider who, as a mechanic, racing car builder and restorer of high-quality sports cars, has strived over five decades to achieve technical perfection.
