The intent of this book is to provide a tool to help clarify aspects of genuine Borrani products over the years and all the inevitable evolutions that have occurred while celebrating our 100 years of activity in the automotive business. A brief history of the company is included to help understand the various name changes and how they have affected our brand, logo and corporate identity over time. All the information included is supported by documents preserved in our archives. These are indisputable proof and include original drawings, signed and approved documents by car makers, correspondence, original pictures and so on. Like any other company with so much past in the automotive business, Borrani has operated in many fields, certainly the automotive wire-wheel market is the most famous and exciting, but we also worked in the aircraft industry (until 1943) designing brake and hydraulic control systems, shocks, fuel pumps and of course wheels. This was directed by a branch of the company based in Rome, Italy called “Sezione Avio” that carried the traditional Borrani hand logo with the addition of a pair of wings. Today, Ruote Borrani-Milano maintains the unique heritage of Carlo Borrani, its founder, and with this publication wants to offer you the opportunity to get to know and fully understand its reality and its history.
